A Conway man has been charged with criminal sexual conduct with a teenager.
Nathan Edward Howell, 25, of Conway, is charged with criminal sexual conduct with a minor 11-14 years of age in the second degree, contributing to the delinquincy of a minor, and simple possession of marijuana, according to J. Reuben Long Detention Center booking records. Howell was booked around 1:45 p.m. on Monday and released around 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Bail was set at about $21,000.
Officers with the Conway Police Department were dispatched to Conway Medical Center on Saturday in reference to a criminal sexual conduct with a minor, according to an incident report from the CPD. Upon arriving, officers met with the complainant and the victim, a 14-year-old girl.
After an investigation, it was reportedly determined that a criminal sexual conduct had occured, the report also said. The case was turned over to the CPD Detective Division for further investigation.
Following a SLED photo line-up, officers presented the case to a judge in Conway Municipal Court, adds the report. A judge reportedly found probable cause for an arrest warrant. Officers further requested a search warrant, which a judge later signed.
Officers then went to the incident location and were able to take the suspect into custody.
