MURRELLS INLET, SC (WBTW) – The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office has arrested an 18-year-old man in the armed robbery of a Subway restaurant in Murrells Inlet in March.
Georgetown County deputies responded to the Subway off Hwy 17 bypass around 6:00 p.m. March 19. Deputies say two suspects wearing Halloween masks and black clothes walked in armed with bats. The two suspects attempted to steal money as employees ran out of the back of the restaurant and called 911.
Friday afternoon, the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office charged Barrett Hayes Coker, 18, of Marion, with armed robbery.
Police say witnesses saw the suspects get away in a small tan 4-door sedan.
The case is still under investigation by the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office.
