CHARLESTON, S.C.  — Dylann Roof, the man who confessed to the Emanuel AME massacre, will be back in federal court in three weeks.

At the hearing on Tuesday, April 5, we could find out if prosecutors will seek the death penalty against Roof.

He faces nearly three dozen federal charges related to the murders of nine people inside of Mother Emanuel in June 2015. State prosecutors already announced Roof could be executed if convicted.

His friend, Joey Meek, will also be in court. He’s accused of knowing about Roof’s plans, but not giving that information to authorities.
