Community members are doing their part to preserve the historic Ingram Dunes in North Myrtle Beach.
The North Myrtle Beach Historic Preservation Society held a fundraising gala at the North Myrtle Beach Area Historical Museum. All the proceeds of the fundraiser will go to the City of North Myrtle Beach, which has created the Ingram Dunes Preservation Fund. If the city is not able to raise enough money, the fund will be used to create an exhibit on the dunes at the Historical Museum.
“The City of North Myrtle Beach just turned 50 and we’re here to write the next chapter of history and I think that preserving Ingram Dunes is a part of that,” said Brittany Callahan, founding member of the North Myrtle Beach Historic Preservation Society.
The City of North Myrtle Beach is currently accepting donations to the preservation fund. People can bring checks or cash donations to city hall.
