Community health day coming to The Market Common

MYRTLE BEACH, SC –  Tidelands Health will offer community members an opportunity to learn more about cancer prevention and screening at an upcoming community health day on May 11 in Myrtle Beach.

The community health day will feature a range of free and low-cost health testing, in addition to information on preventing and screening for breast, lung, colon, prostate and other cancers.

Attendees can learn from experts with the Tidelands Health Cancer Care Network, the region’s most comprehensive provider of cancer care, how to perform breast self-exams, explore the importance of colonoscopies and find out how low-dose CT lung cancer screening can help identify lung cancer early to improve survival rates.

The May 11 event will take place from 7:30-10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 11, at the General Robert H. Reed Recreation Center, 800 Gabreski Lane in The Market Common community of Myrtle Beach. Entry is free.
