MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Dozens of people gathered to watch a comedy show for a good cause on Sunday.

The organizations “Laughter Saves Lives” and “Sons of the Flag” teamed up to host a charity comedy show, to raise money for Camp Can Do. It’s a camp for children and teenagers who have suffered serious burns. The president of “Laughter Saves Lives”, John Larocchia, was one of the comics who performed last night at the Comedy Cabana in Myrtle Beach. As a New York City firefighter, he says he knows the healing power of laughter first hand. “After 9/11, I lost 19 guys in my firehouse. I didn’t start feeling normal again, until I laughed. That’s what we’re trying to do here. Not only raise money, but take people away from these tragedies and save lives that way.”
