CONWAY- The Coastal Carolina University men’s basketball team earned a 16 seed in the West Region and will face the No. 1 seed Wisconsin in the NCAA tournament on Friday, March 20.

The Chants and Badgers have met twice on the hardwood but not since 2005. Coastal is 0-2 all-time versus the Badgers.

This is the Chanticleers second trip to the big dance in as many seasons, and fourth trip in program history.

Led by Frank Kaminsky and Nigel Hayes, the Badgers (31-3) outscored Michigan 11-0 in overtime for an 80-69 victory in the Big Ten Tournament title game. They also won the regular season conference championship.

The Badgers lost to Kentucky in the Final Four last year.

The Chanticleers (24-9) are led by Elijah Wilson and won their second straight Big South Conference championship under coach Cliff Ellis. As a 16th seed last year, the Chanticleers went toe-to-toe in a 70-59 loss to No. 1 seed Virginia.
