CONWAY (WBTW) – The Coastal Carolina baseball team defeated Stetson 12-2 on Saturday afternoon at Springs Brooks Stadium.
Zach Remillard and G.K. Young each had three hits for the Chanticleers. Matt Beaird drove in three runs.
With the series sweep over the Hatters, the Chanticleers improve to 16-9 and have won 11 of their last 15. Coastal batted .402, scored 40 runs and hit nine home runs in the three games.
The Hatters scored two runs in the top of the second. After loading the bases on a pair of singles and an error, Jack Machonis delivered a two-run single to left field. But it was not enough to turn the momentum in their favor.
Tyler Poole earned the win to improve to 4-2. He allowed four hits (three in one inning) and two runs with a walk and six strikeouts.
Coastal Carolina will stay home to host The Citadel on Wednesday, March 30th. First pitch is set for 6 p.m.
