CONWAY (WBTW) – Coastal Carolina earned its first postseason win in school history with a 65-57 win over Mercer on Tuesday night at the HTC Center. With the win, the Chants advance to the second round of the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament.
Elijah Wilson led all scorers with 18 points. Jaylen Shaw finished with 16 points. Badou Diagne also made his return to the court, having missed the last three games with injury. He had nine points and eight rebounds.
Demetre Rivers led the Mercer offense with 16 points.
Coastal will host the second round of the CIT on Saturday, March 19, at 2 p.m. Their opponent will be determined at a later time.
