CONWAY (WBTW) – Coastal Carolina defeated Gardner-Webb 10-4 on Saturday afternoon at Springs Brooks Stadium.
South Carolina fell behind 3-0 in the first inning but the Chants came back and scored runs in every inning after that. G.K. Young led the way for Coastal. He was 2-for-5 with 2 RBI.
Bobby Holmes (3-1) got the win. The sophomore pitched 5.1 innings and allowed seven hits, four runs and four walks.
Coastal Carolina, winners in 12 of its last 14, improve to 19-9 overall and 4-1 in the Big South. The Chants are back in action tomorrow afternoon against the Bulldogs at Springs Brooks Stadium. First pitch is 2 p.m.
