CONWAY (WBTW) – Coastal Carolina defeated Duke 10-6 on Sunday afternoon at Springs Brooks Stadium.
G.K. Young was 3-for-5 and finished a double shy of the cycle. He also drove in four runs. He tied the game in the third inning with a two-run home run and then gave the Chanticleers a 6-4 lead in the fifth with a two-run triple.
Duke took advantage of an error and wild pitch to score three runs in second inning. The Blue Devils brought the tying run to the plate in the ninth but Bobby Holmes induced a game-ending ground out to earn his first save of the season for Coastal.
Coastal starting pitcher Tyler Poole earned the win.
