New Orleans, La. (WBTW) — Coastal Carolina baseball received the No. 5 seed in next week’s 2019 Sun Belt Baseball Championship, the league office announced today. The conference championship tournament will be hosted by Coastal Carolina University at Springs Brooks Stadium from May 21-26.
The Chants will open up its postseason tournament slate on Wednesday, May 22, at 4 p.m. ET versus the No. 4-seeded UT Arlington Mavericks (31-24, 17-12 Sun Belt).
Coastal finished second in the East Division at 15-13 in conference play. With their win in the regular-season finale over Appalachian State on Saturday, the Chants finished with the fifth-best record in the Sun Belt overall.
For the fifth-straight season, the Chanticleers have posted 30 or more wins, as Coastal enters the tournament at 30-23-1 overall on the season.
