GEORGETOWN, SC (WBTW) – All Georgetown County schools will close early Monday and many after-school activities are cancelled for Florence School District One in light of severe weather.

Lindsay Anne Thompson with Georgetown County Schools says all schools will be dismissed today, April 24, 2017, at 12:30 p.m. due to expected heavy rainfall, flash flooding, and road and street closures countywide. All schools will remain open until parents have picked up all students or the buses have delivered students home safely. All after school activities are cancelled Monday as well.

Georgetown County School District will operate on a regular schedule Tuesday, April 25. Students who are unable to get to school due to weather-related issues or flooded roadways will be excused.

According to Florence School District One, after-school athletic activities are cancelled Monday due to weather conditions. After-school activities which are held indoors are scheduled as normal.
