MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – City officials say the contractor hired to pick up storm debris will complete the first pass this week.  Tree crews will also begin addressing “leaners, hangers and stumps” on the public right-of-way.

City leaders ask that residents put any remaining tree debris on the curb, but not in the roadway, for collection.

The drop-off site at US 17 and 21st Avenue North Extension remains open for city residents to dispose of their debris themselves, rather than wait for curbside pickup. Residents of gated communities and private roads must take their debris to the nearest public right-of-way or directly to the drop-off location. FEMA Federal Emergency Management Agency will not reimburse the city for picking up debris on private streets or in gated communities.
