City of Florence Police ask for residents to stay off of the roads until debris is cleared

FLORENCE, S.C. (WBTW) – The City of Florence Police Department is assisting Duke Energy with clearing the roads of down trees and debris.

Lieutenant Mike Brandt said the City is working diligently on clearing the storm drains and restoring power but the first step is to clear the roads and restore a good traffic flow.

LT. Brandt said, “We ask for patience. We would prefer if people would stay home. Stay off the roadways.”

“It’s going to be a long process but we are working as quickly and safely as possible,” LT. Brandt adds.
