LAS VEGAS, NV (KSNV) — A Las Vegas middle school class came face-to-face with a knife-wielding man as they completed their lesson at a public park next door to their campus this past Friday.

Police say two kids were grabbed by their arms before officers moved in to save them.

The school routinely uses the park for the classes, but on Tuesday, the class encountered 39-year-old Shane Daniel, who grabbed an 11-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl while holding a knife.

Both children managed to get away from their attacker unhurt, and one of the children kicked and punched the man until police came to their aid.

Daniel was arrested immediately following the attack. He now faces assault with a deadly weapon, resisting arrest and obstruction charges.Read more: http://bit.ly/1M9Cw78
