The Chicora Rotary Club announced its selection for Firefighter of the Year Friday.
Lt. Vincent Bettinazzi won the award.
Lt. Bettinazzi works for the Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue.
The Rotary Club made the announcement the Dunes Club in Myrtle Beach.
During the celebration, the audience heard why each firefighter was nominated.
Many local businesses and Chicora Rotary members donated awards to be presented to the winner and nominees to show gratitude and appreciation toward the selfless service they provide the community.
This year’s other nominees were Jerry Gasque, Johnathan Evans and Leo Johnson.
