CHESTERFIELD, SC (WBTW) – The Amber Alert issued Saturday morning for a missing Chesterfield County teen is now canceled.
According to Captain Daniel Scott of the Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office, 14-year-old Alexis Ann Deas is safe, and in the custody of the sheriff’s office.
Captain Scott says the suspect, 43-year-old Harland Donnell Melton, is still on the run. Melton is described as a white male, 5’10” tall weighing 150 pounds. He has green eyes with short hair and a beard.
Deputies say Deas was last seen leaving the New Heights Middle School in Jefferson, SC around 10 am Friday with Melton.
According to deputies, he could be traveling in a Black 1999 Nissan Maxima with SC tag number IUF 593.
