WOODRUFF, S.C. (WSPA) – The estate of Charles Carver has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against his alleged murderer Todd Kohlhepp, according to their lawyer, Mills Ariel.
His mother is also named in the lawsuit because she is power of attorney.
Ariel says they will be filing a motion for a hearing for a permanent injunction to try and stop Kohlhepp from getting rid of his assets.
Carver’s body was found in a shallow grave on Kohlhepp’s property, according to the sheriff’s office.
The lawsuit alleges that Kohlhepp held Carver against his will before shooting him.
The lawsuit it seeking actual and punitive damages in an amount to be determined by a jury.
Kohlhepp has been charged with Carver’s murder as well as 6 other counts of murder and one count of kidnapping.

Coroner Rusty Clevenger says that Carver died of multiple gunshot wounds.
