A female Coastal Carolina University student was hit by a vehicle while walking on campus on Friday afternoon.

Martha Hunn, CCU Director of News and Public Affairs, said that the incident happened just after 4:30 pm on University Blvd.

The female student was crossing the street at a crosswalk and was hit by the vehicle, Hunn told WBTW.

Students who know the woman who was hit told News13 that she is a senior student and a soccer player for CCU.

Conway Fire and EMS along with CCU public safety responded to the incident.

The student was transported to Grand Strand Regional Hospital for treatment.
