CONWAY (WBTW) – The Coastal Carolina men’s soccer team tied No. 5 Clemson in a double overtime match on Tuesday night. The Chants have now extended their season-long unbeaten streak to four games.
Coastal finished with a 10-9 advantage in overall shots. Chants goalkeeper Braulio Linares-Ortiz denied Clemson the best scoring opportunity of the match, stopping a Tiger penalty kick in the 26th minute. He finished the game with five saves.
Coastal out-chanced Clemson 2-0 in the second half. But the Chants could not convert on their opportunities. In each overtime, Clemson put a shot on frame but they also could not find the net.
Coastal next heads to Hartwick on Oct. 8 to play its Sun Belt Conference opener.
