CCU and Rolling Thunder members unveil “Missing Man Chair of Honor”

CONWAY, S.C. (WBTW)-For the second straight season, Coastal Carolina Athletics, in partnership with the CCU chapter of Student Veterans of America, will honor the men and women who serve and have served this great nation as part of Military Appreciation Weekend.

The events began with CCU and Rolling Thunder SC-3 installing a second Missing Man Chair at the flag pole to honor our nation’s POW and MIA.

“Bring it, keep it to the surface. People forget too easy and we just can’t let this happen, not when Americans want to come home a

nd not when families want closure,” Rolling Thunder member Bill Devaughn said.

This past spring, Coastal became the first university in South Carolina to install a Missing Man Chair at one of its athletics facilities in a ceremony at Springs Brooks Stadium. The second chair is located at Brooks Stadium, which will remain empty until all POW/MIA return home.

CCU will also honor Veterans at their “Patriots Game” as the Chanticleers take on the Monmouth Hawks, 2:00 pm at Brooks Stadium. Pregame will include a motorcycle ride-in, Armed Forces recognition, and Veteran honorary coin toss.
