LATTA, SC (WBTW) – According to Latta Town Administrator Jarett Taylor, Derrick Cartwright has been named the next Latta Police Chief.
Taylor says he gave two designated town council members the resumes of eight applicants qualified for the Chief of Police position.
Those two council members dwindled the applicant list to four finalists who were interviewed by a panel of council members.
Each applicant was scored on the same five interview questions and the person with the highest score was offered the position.
Derrick Cartwright, previous interim chief after Crystal Moore’s termination, was given the job.
Cartwright began as Latta Chief of Police Monday morning.
