HEART VISITORS PROGRAM: This support group is for people recovering from heart disease. One important function of the group is the Heart Visitor Program, where members visit patients who are awaiting heart surgery at local hospitals. The Women’s Center is proud to offer education classes and orientation sessions for expectant parents free of charge as a service to our community.
Childbirth Preparation – This class is designed to prepare the mother-to-be and her labor companion for the birthing experience, focusing on signs of labor, comfort measures to use in labor and breathing relaxation techniques. The class will include a tour of the facility where you will learn about our labor and delivery methods.
Class is held the first Tuesday of every month from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Floyd Conference Center. Registration is required.
Breastfeeding Preparation – This class offers consultation in methods to promote lactation and tips for a successful breastfeeding experience both during your hospital stay and beyond.
