FLORENCE, SC –  Carolinas Hospital System is hosting a free Community Appreciation Day on Saturday, September 24th from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm, on the main hospital campus, 805 Pamplico Highway in Florence.

This special event features a pet adoption from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm with animals from local and regional humane societies and shelters. There will also be a corn hole tournament starting at 11:00 am. 64 team slots are available, two people per team, and entry is free. You must register in advance by calling 843-674-2953. The event also includes bouncy houses for the kids, and there will be a first responders “Holding the Line” emergency demonstration at 2:00 pm, and helicopter takeoff at 2:30 pm. emergency vehicles on display including a fire truck, ambulance, police car and helicopter.

Local community Gospel singers will be on stage from 2:30 pm – 5:00 pm.  Local vendors will provide food and beverages for purchase.  Organizers say you may want to also bring your lawn chairs.
