Carolinas Hospital System Prepares Two Low Sodium Recipes

May is National High Blood Pressure Education Month and American Stroke Month.

High Blood Pressure is a leading risk factor for stroke. Controlling your blood pressure is the number one way to prevent a stroke.

Rona Ewart, Clinical Nutrition Manager with Carolinas Hospital System in Florence,  said the hospital has joined the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association in encouraging Americans to check, change and control their blood pressure.

One way to take control is by reducing your sodium intake. Eating healthier doesn’t mean your food has to be tasteless. The dishes Ewart prepared today are not only blood pressure approved — but sure to be a hit at your Memorial Day cookout this weekend!

Today’s recipes included Watermelon and Strawberry Salsa and Tuna Pasta Salad.
