MYRTLE BEACH – Coastal Carolina is sure to become a more popular destination for top baseball talent, especially in the Eastern Carolinas. That’s the case for one Grand Strand star, who chose to stay close to home for college.

Carolina Forest product Patrick Orlando committed to the Chanticleers Friday. He originally signed with North Greenville, but the school granted him a release, and he’ll walk on at CCU.

Orlando played multiple positions in high school, but he’ll focus on pitching in college.
