Carolina Forest robotics team, “New Kids on the Bot,” talks about being recognized in a global competition

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) — Few of us can say we are familiar with robotics, let alone be recognized in a global competition, but that’s exactly what the “New Kids on the Bot” did. The rookie team from Carolina Forest, all under the age of 13, competed in the First Lego League Robotics World Festival in St. Louis, Missouri. Of 105 teams, 36 were recognized, and the group received the Judges Award, which is given to teams that made an impression on the judges throughout the competition. The competition consisted of a robotics match, core values challenges, and robot design.

Team members, Logan Ekster, Zane Ekster, Kaelyn Williamson, Olivia Nelson and Trent Toole came on News 13 Now Tuesday with their coach, Brandy Incorvia, to talk about their experience. To learn more about the competition go to http://scrobotics.org/.
