Thousands flocked to downtown Myrtle Beach for the first ever Carolina Country Music Festival. While many of them were locals a few traveled quite a distance for the event.
Even though it was only Thursday country fans were pumped for the weekend ahead.
“We love country music,” said Shirl Brinser.
Brinser and her friend Lin Coble traveled all the way from Pennsylvania just for the Carolina Country Music Festival.
“Torrential downpour all the way down and we still made it in nine hours,” said Brinser.
Other than dozens of country music acts, the festival features food and drink vendors, and entertainment like the zip line that stretches across the Old Pavilion site.
Brinser says the 18 hour round trip drive is worth it to see her first ever music festival and visit Myrtle Beach for the first time.
“What a perfect gift just spend a week in myrtle beach at the country music fest”
The festival runs all weekend long.
