NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW)- The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a crash involving a North Myrtle Beach police officer Sunday afternoon.
City Spokesperson Pat Dowling says it happened shortly after noon when North Myrtle Beach Motorcycle Officer Aaron Jones was traveling eastbound on Main Street.
Dowling says a grey Mercedes pulled out from Oak Street into Jones’ lane of travel and the front side of the driver’s side bumper collided with the patrol motorcycle.
Jones self-ejected from the motorcycle and was not hurt, according to Dowling.
The car’s driver nor passenger were not hurt but the car has significant damage.
