FLORENCE, S.C. (WBTW)- The Florence YMCA is hosting its annual “All 4 Autism” summer camp this week and next week for kids 4- 12 on the Autism Spectrum.
It allows the kids to interact with other kids in a safe environment and offers them the same experiences you would see at any other camp.
“Most of the kids that are coming to our camp have never been able to go to a camp before because parents are nervous that the camp counselors or the other camps might not be able to accommodate their children and the Autism Avengers camp is designed and created just for kids with autism,” said camp director Angela Watts.
Every day at the camp, the young people celebrate holidays; this week campers will celebrate Christmas, July 4, and St. Patrick’s Day. Next week will be Halloween, Mardi Gras and Easter.
