MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – It’s the final day of Tax Free Weekend and people in Myrtle Beach took advantage of the last minute savings.

This morning, Best Buy at the Coastal Grand Mall had a crowd outside before the doors even opened.

“We’ve come to expect it,” said General Manager Stan Kilp. “All three days have been extremely busy.”

Joann Toscano was one of those people who came early. She traveled from North Carolina to save on a new laptop computer.

“It was the tax free incentive,” said Toscano. “I thought I was really going to save myself a few dollars and I came down with my family, my daughter and my son and law and my grandchildren.”

Toscano said her family made the trip to get not only the laptop, but also clothes and back to school supplies for the kids.

To meet the customer demand this weekend, Kilp said the store had to bring in staff members from North Carolina.

“They help by having the extra staff that gives us the ability to make it through the day,” added Kilp.

The most popular items sold this weekend were computers and printers. Kilp said the store did a month’s worth of business in just three days.

“It’s been a fantastic weekend,” he added.
