GEORGETOWN, SC (WBTW) – A brief car chase through a portion of Georgetown County Tuesday landed two brothers behind bars, according to the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office.
A release from the sheriff’s office details how the 15th Circuit Drug Enforcement Unit along with the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office and the Georgetown Police Department worked together to put two men behind bars after a police chase that ended in the City of Georgetown.
Agents arrested the driver, Brenton Rutledge, 38, who was wanted on several drug warrants. Rutledge had outstanding warrants for trafficking and distribution of crack cocaine and was additionally charged with possession with intent to distribute heroin third offense, failure to stop for blue light and driving under suspension third or subsequent offense.
The passenger in the car, Brenton Rutledge’s brother, Corey Rutledge, 41, was charged with possession with intent to distribute heroin second offense, possession with the intent to distribute crack cocaine second offense and possession of marijuana.
Agents recovered heroin, crack cocaine, marijuana, digital scales and packaging materials from the vehicle.
