UPDATE 4:35 AM:

MPD made an arrest in the case early Sunday morning.  Officials say the victims were a 17-year-old man and 7-year-old girl.  Both are recovering from what are described as non-life-threatening injuries.

News 5 has learned an stolen gun was recovered during the investigation into the shooting of an 8-year-old girl and a man after Mardi Gras parades Saturday in Mobile. Stolen guns used in crimes is a major problem in Mobile. In fact Mobile Police recently made a public service announcement about the problem and asked WKRG to share the video which is airing on News 5. MPD is particularly concerned about guns left in cars and being stolen during Mardi Gras. Officer Sean Tuder was shot and killed with a stolen gun on January 20th. A Mobile teenager, Nia Savage, was also shot and killed with a gun stolen during Mardi Gras in 2017.

The second victim is a male in his late teens or early 20’s. He was allegedly shot in the arm. He was treated on the scene.
