FLORENCE (WBTW) — When Hillary Clinton’s campaign rolls into Florence Thursday for a “Breaking Down Barriers” event at Cumberland United Methodist Church on Coit Street, the former Secretary of State will be joined by the president of one of the nation’s leading gun violence prevention campaigns.

Dan Gross, president of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, will speak alongside Clinton and Senator Cory Booker of New Jersey. According to a press release, Gross will share updated gun violence prevention statistics.

The Brady Campaign claims its mission is to “create a safer America by cutting gun deaths in half by 2025.”  The Brady Center was founded by former White House Press Secretary Jim Brady, who was critically wounded in the assassination attempt on President Reagan in 1981.

The appearance in Florence will start at 2:15 on Thursday.
