MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Curt Lindelow of Bonefish Grill joined News13 Now at 9 a.m. on Monday to provide some tips on preparing fresh fish. He also shared some inspiring dishes recently added to the Bonefish Grill menu.
Lindelow said cooking fish is all about the timing. The most common mistake people make when cooking fish is overcooking it. Here are recommended cooking times:
- Bake- 7-10 minutes
- Sauté- 4-5 minutes per side
- Grill- 8-15 minutes
- Poach- 8-10 minutes
- Broil- 4-6 minutes per side
- You’ll know salmon is done when it easily flakes.
- Just one or two ingredients can transform fish. Simple staples that are already in your kitchen — like breadcrumbs, herbs, and yogurt — will go a long way to make dinner more exciting. Try out new toppings!
Bonefish Grill’s newest menu items include a few toppings for seasonal fish dishes. The new seasonal specials include Kate’s Wild North Atlantic Haddock and Norwegian Salmon. Each fish comes with a choice of Jim Beam Bacon Butter Jam or Fresh Tomato Pesto Salsa. Rockefeller Atlantic Cobia is also a seasonal fish currently on the menu.
When it comes to wine pairings, Lindelow says the wine doesn’t always have to be white to pair with seafood. Here are some suggestions:
- Red Wine – Tuna steak, Seabass or Salmon
- White Wine – Crab and lobster , Atlantic Haddock
Seasonal cocktails may also make a good match for fresh fish. Lindelow mentioned Bonefish’s Wild Orchid Hawaiian Martini and the Strawberry Rose Martini.
