More than five months after they were arrested, a judge has set bond for two men accused of kidnapping and killing 19-year-old Zachary Malinowski in Horry County.

The judge set bond for the suspects at $50,000 each during a bond hearing on Wednesday, said Senior Assistant Solicitor Stephen Grooms. He said the delay in a bond hearing came at the request of the defendants’ attorneys.

Christopher Anfony Brown, 21, of Myrtle Beach, and Javon Dion Gibbs, 20, of Conway, were arrested in early December of 2014. Brown and Gibbs are both charged with kidnapping and murder.

Judge Benjamin Culbertson set each man’s bond at $30,000 on the murder charge and $20,000 on the kidnapping charge.

Online records for the J. Reuben Long detention center show the suspects were still incarcerated early Thursday afternoon.

Malinowski was last seen in Aynor in Aug 2013. Police say he was leaving a basketball game on Sunday, Aug. 25. His car was found Sept. 2, but his body has still not been found.
