Bond denied for teen charged in shooting at Magnolia Mall in Florence

 A teenager was denied bond Friday afternoon after he was charged in connection with a shooting that injured a man at the Florence mall in mid-February.

The 7:45 pm incident on Friday the 13th left one young man shot in the leg and caused widespread panic in the mall as shoppers ran to escape after hearing gunshots.

Dalyn Dravell Witherspoon, age 18, of Ash Street in Darlington was taken into custody at 10:30 am Thursday.

In a hearing on Friday, bond was denied for Witherspoon for his charged of Attempted Murder.

Bond was set at $100,000 for a separate charge of  Weapon during a Violent Crime, Florence Police said.

“This arrest is the result of an ongoing investigation of the shooting incident that occurred… at the Magnolia Mall in Florence,” police said.

Witherspoon was transported to the Florence County Detention Center where he awaits arraignment and a bond hearing.

Witherspoon’s mug shot was not available as of 3:30 pm Thursday.
