MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Boeing’s Dream Learner program was presented an award for their school outreach program Monday afternoon at the Embassy Suites.

Representatives go to schools across the state to promote math and science and how those subjects can help young people find careers in aeronautics.

Boeing says since the program began in 2012, it’s reached nearly 250,000 students in South Carolina.

“Part of what we strive is to inspire people to make the impossible possible and so we just hope we’re reaching kids and educators across the state of South Carolina that maybe they have the next idea for a 787 or the future of commercial satellites or various things that will continue to move our world forward,” Lindsay Leonard with Boeing Senior Government Operations said.

Boeing says its Dream Learners program has reached students in all 46 counties in South Carolina.
