Officers went to the school to help Jordan Ward celebrate his 12th birthday.

“It was pretty cool. Ever since I was a little boy I always wanted to become a police officer so, yea, it was a big surprise, said Ward.

he officer in the video said he didn’t even know he was being “videoed”
but he does know why he likes to interact with young people.

“At first they were a little nervous and scared. I told them to throw me the ball and then we just started playing. At one time one kid was like I didn’t know police officers were so nice and I said buddy we’re your friends were always out here for you and if you ever need anything or if you are in trouble just stop one of us and talk to us,” said CJ Mullinax, Traffic Safety Officer with Bennettsville Police Department.

The video has gotten more than 8 million views on Facebook.
