BENNETTSVILLE, S.C. (PRESS RELEASE) – On Friday, February 13, 2015, the Bennettsville Police Department along with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division executed a search warrant at 10 McArthur Street, located in Bennettsville, for illegal gaming machines and drugs.
Investigators seized five “Pot of Gold” gaming machines along with marijuana and currency. Investigators entered the residence to find individuals playing the gaming machines.
Antonio Dease was arrested for possession with intent to distribute marijuana for marijuana found in his possession. Nelson DeMario Lewis was arrested for possession with intent to distribute marijuana after officers observed him attempting to flush the drugs down the toilet. Darletha Bostic was arrested for gambling/operating an illegal gaming house and possessing operable illegal gaming machines.
This is still an ongoing investigation as Investigators are still investigating the origin of the machines. More charges may follow.
