A Bennettsville man was arrested after a chase and manhunt.
Travis Sentel Esaw, 35, was arrested by the Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office after a chase and manhunt in the Salem Rd. area of Bennettsville, according to a press release from the MCSO.
“Earlier in the day, Esaw was involved in a high speed chase with the Clio Police Department but was able to evade law enforcement,” states the release. A sheriff’s office investigater later found Esaw’s vehicle and “another chase ensued which led to a manhunt when Esaw wrecked and ran on foot.” He was tracked through a wooded swamp area and arrested.
Esaw is charged with trafficking cocaine base for a first offense, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, failure to stop, and driving without a license. He is reportedly also wanted by other jurisdictions and will extradited after posting bond in Marlboro County.
Esaw is being held at the Marlboro County Detention Center pending bond.
