Baseball team’s bus crashes on way to Myrtle Beach for game Tuesday

CHADBOURN, NC (WBTW) – The North Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a bus crash Tuesday morning that was carrying members of the Carolina Mudcats minor league baseball team.

According to a report from CBS affiliate WRAL, the Trailways bus was taking the team to Myrtle Beach for a game Tuesday afternoon.

The wreck happened at about 3:45 a.m. on Clarendon Chadbourn Road near the North Carolina-South Carolina border.


WECT TV in Wilmington reports eight people, including seven players and one trainer, were taken to an area hospital with minor injuries.

The game scheduled Tuesday between the Myrtle Beach Pelicans and Mudcats has now been postponed, according to Pelicans officials.
