FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) – Florence-Darlington Technical College held a Back 2 School Bash Saturday afternoon.

The Back 2 School Bash was held in front of the main campus with the mission to collect donated school supplies for students in the community.

Students played games and got a chance to win school supplies at the event.

They also enjoyed a car show, face painting and a close up view of first responder vehicles.

Organizers say the “Back 2 School Bash” helps the college build community relations and celebrate the importance of education.

“It is so rewarding. I am just filled with so much joy and delight. You know, community service has always been near and dear to my heart, so I just really take joy in being able to give back and to be a part of an institution that also believes in community service is like a perfect marriage,” said Ivey Ingram, Director of Admissions and Community Outreach.

More than 800 bags of schools supplies were given out Saturday and over fifteen hundred people attended the event.
