GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Greenville Zoo says a baby Angolan colobus monkey died from head and chest trauma which led to a collapsed lung.
They think the baby was hurt when the mother, Nuru dropped the baby overnight.
They don’t think the mother ever mistreated the baby.
They say the mom held onto to the baby for 2 days before she let her go.
The mother is doing well and they expect she will breed again sometime this year.
