Attempted murder suspect poured boiling soup on boyfriend’s face

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – St. Petersburg police are asking for help finding a woman who is accused of pouring boiling soup on her boyfriend’s face as he was lying in bed. He is hospitalized in critical condition.

Misty Childs, 41, is wanted for attempted first degree murder.

Investigators say Childs and her boyfriend Lavont Moss, 56, got into an argument just after midnight on Sunday. After the argument, Moss went to bed.

Childs had been preparing a boiling pot of soup. Detectives say she poured the soup onto Moss’ face and upper torso as he was lying in bed. Childs then left the area.

Moss was transported to a local hospital where he remains in critical condition.

St. Petersburg police are asking for the public’s help finding Childs. She is 5 ft. 4 inches tall and weighs about 185 lbs.
