Attempted murder suspect caught after fleeing Marion Co. deputy, crashing with another vehicle

An attempted murder suspect has been caught after fleeing a deputy in Marion County and crashing into another vehicle.

Marion County Sheriff Brian Wallace says a deputy with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office came in contact with Mychal Legette, who he says was wanted for attempted murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, on Bill Gause Rd. in Mullins.

Legette allegedly didn’t comply with the commands of the deputy and fled the scene in a vehicle, according to Sheriff Wallace. Legette’s vehicle collided with another vehicle following a short vehicle chase.

Legette was apprehended after a foot pursuit, Sheriff Wallace added. South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
