HARTSVILLE, SC (WBTW) – Deputies say an individual has been arrested for firing shots near the Southside Early Childhood Center Tuesday.
The Darlington County Sheriff’s Office says officers with the Hartsville Police Department helped take one person into custody following the shooting near Shaw Drive and Blanding Drive at 1 p.m.
The identity of the person accused of shooting has not yet been released. Investigators have not said whether or not anyone was injured in the shooting.
According to a release from Lt. Robert Kilgo with the sheriff’s office, the Southside Early Childhood Center was briefly placed on lockdown Tuesday by the school resource officer but the lockdown has been lifted.
