History comes to life this weekend at the Skirmish at Gambles Hotel in Florence County.

The annual Civil War reenactment happens at The Harwell House at Rankin Plantation on the Old Marion Highway, also known as The Columns.

The actual battle happened March 5, 1865 in the Florence area.

On Friday, people

dressed as Union and Confederate soldiers showed students from across the Pee Dee how the soldiers lived and fought.

The event continues Saturday from 7:00am until 11:00pm, and starting at 7:00am Sunday morning.

Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children under 18 and kids under 12 get in free with an adult.
