Andrews man, 18, dies in Georgetown County car crash

ANDREWS, SC (WBTW) – An Andrews man was killed in a car crash in Georgetown County Wednesday afternoon.

Deputy Coroner Paulette Radcliffe with the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office says Nicholas Cameron Cumbie, 18, of Andrews was killed in a two vehicle accident around 12:44 p.m. Wednesday.

Cpl. Sonny Collins with SCHP says Cumbie was attempting to pull out of a private driveway onto Big Dam Swamp Rd when the driver of a Ford F-150 heading south struck him. The driver of the F-150 was taken to the hospital with injuries.

Cumbie died from multiple trauma sustained in the crash, Radcliffe confirms.

Collins says at this time no charges are expected to be filed.

South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.
